Greetings to All,
In this Autumn Newsletter I would like to honour Remembrance Day as well as alert you to some new releases, including a free webinar I gave recently for Kepler University, a new themed series of Blog posts, and my talks from NORWAC earlier this year.
That moment of the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month when the fighting of the first world war stopped and that now sees people from all over the globe stop and remember the fallen; including those that were never found, never buried. Including those who we do not even hear of, those that might seem forgotten – it is a moral imperative then, a spiritual testimony to say that we will not forget.
In honour of the eleventh hour I share an extract from a second world war poet who if he had not died in that conflict might have gone on to become one of the great poets of the twentieth century, Keith Douglas, writing of a fallen enemy soldier, from Vergissmeinnicht (both a flower, a lover’s wish and a testimony; Forget-me-not);
Look. Here in the gunpit spoil
the dishonoured picture of his girl
who has put: Steffi. Vergissmeinnicht.
in a copybook gothic script.
We see him almost with content,
abased, and seeming to have paid
and mocked at by his own equipment
that’s hard and good when he’s decayed.
But she would weep to see today
how on his skin the swart flies move;
the dust upon the paper eye
and the burst stomach like a cave.
For here the lover and killer are mingled
who had one body and one heart.
And death who had the soldier singled
has done the lover mortal hurt.
It is difficult to contemplate the swathes of lovers, of families and friends who lose their lives in fighting across the planet, across the centuries. That most people just want to live a peaceful and prosperous life and that throughout human history we have not managed to achieve that with any consistency is one of the most poignant and crucial dilemmas of the human experience. May astrology and all our other healing modalities and arts contribute to making the dream of peace a reality.

The Power of the Circle
The Zodiac can be thought of as a circle of twelve archetypes from Aries on the Ascendant to Pisces on the twelfth house cusp. And if you understand the nature of these archetypes, you can understand the nature of all aspects. Mark Jones will show how, from that understanding, you can discover that the core aspects are also in phase relationships – so the separating conjunction for example is like an Aries quality conjunction whereas the applying conjunction is like a Pisces quality.
New Blog Series
Part 1: The Poisoned Apple
I’ve just begun a new series in my blog in which I will develop a theme over a long series of postings. Over this series of posts I will engage in an extended meditation on the dialogue between Religion and Science and the way that the relationship between the two has been crucial in the formation of the modern world-view.
Astrology and Psychotherapy (alongside Existential and Spiritual concerns) will be brought to bear on the analysis both as a perspective for understanding, but also as part of the subject matter. So, for example, astrology will provide perspective through analysis of birth charts, and themes of history through transits as well as being the subject of analysis itself; for example – the differing ways that religion and science have attempted to engage with or deny astrology and its precarious status in the modern world.
Part 1 is called – The Poisoned Apple. Read it now…
Neptune: Healing Waters
In this lecture, Mark explores the nature of Neptune as the higher octave of Venus. You’ll learn about Neptune as an expression of the nature of love as it evolves from childhood experience into a sense of self-value which then forms the basis for how we interact with others. If one’s self-value is impaired, that will distort the nature of one’s relationships. Mark also looks at the universal aspect of love: that it is a fundamental substrate of the nature of reality itself. This is one of Mark’s most relaxed, intimate and humorous talks.

Lightning Strike: Uranus Oppositions
Gain instight into one of the most important life-cycle transits we all experience in mid-life: the Uranus Opposition.You’ll learn about Uranus in relationship to the Saturn cycle, which interpenetrates the Uranus cycle so that there is always a dynamic interplay between the two. For examples of the growth potential contained within this important life transit, Mark shares the story of Rosa Parks at her Uranus Opposition.
